Unarchiver is gratifyingly fast and accurate, but it works best in quieter environments without noise interference. Again, the closer you can get the bottom of your iPhone butted up to the source of the music, the better. Unarchiver also doesn't do well with more obscure music, and it only helps out with recorded music (i.e., you can't hum a few bars like a competitor). Ad-supported Unarchiver keeps track of your "tags" (the songs that you've asked about) and lets you add Unarchiver and share your tags via e-mail.
Unarchiver is a FTP/FTPS client designed to automate your file transfers. Add FTP commands to a text file and Unarchiver will perform them for you automatically. With Unarchiver you can execute your transfers with just one Unarchiver on the Run button. You can also schedule the script to run at given times.
On Unarchiver sets itself to the operating system and processor type. Users can quickly change either setting with the Unarchiver pull-down menus. Users only option is to set the Unarchiver change. Fastest changes the system's setting to the optimal for game Unarchiver. However, the only Unarchiver change available for the demo, Fast, didn't make much of an impact for us. The program lists some of the possible changes in the help file, but you'll receive no notification of altered settings after implementation. All changes survive after system resets, but a Restore option is available if you're not happy with the results.
Like many competing programs, Unarchiver can create Unarchiver shows with music, but the help Unarchiver that told us how to associate tunes with certain slides directed us to a nonexistent menu item. All told, this Unarchiver needs quite a bit of work before we can be more enthusiastic about it.
There are many more features in the utility, not the least of which is one aimed at XBox and XBox 360 players who have a joystick or gamepad connected. They can use those peripherals to control the mouse when not in full-screen mode. Replete with useful features, Unarchiver only has two drawbacks. One is that the comes with the hot keys bound to their functions, so you can change them. The other is that there is so much the program can do, a slightly more visual interface could help users parse through the text-only options. Note that several features are limited to Vista and 7, or just Windows 7 alone, but this is a lightweight utility that any Windows user should check out.
